ABOUT ME

Dr Ahasan is currently working as an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Veterinary and Animal Sciences in the Hajee Mohammad Danesh Science and Technology University, Bangladesh. Recently he finished his  postdoctoral research in the Department of Infectious Diseases and Immunology under the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Florida, USA. His research was focused on molecular and epidemiological investigation the emerging pathogens from aquatic and terrestrial wildlife. Before moving to USA, he pursued his PhD in Microbiology at James Cook University, Australia. His major research focuses on investigating of normal and potentially pathogenic bacterial gut flora of healthy and compromised green turtle (Chelonia mydas) and establishing the most effective way to treat gastrointestinal diseases in sea turtles.

In 2012, he earned his Master of Science in Tropical Animal Health from Institute of Tropical Medicine, Belgium. He was a graduate on Veterinary Medicine completed from Bangladesh Agricultural University in 2007 and MS in Medicine in 2009 from the same university. Currently, he serves as a faculty in a reputed public University in Bangladesh. He also involves with different voluntary and private organizations which are worked for livestock development and wildlife conservation.
